One Stop Homeless Services Center

Helping Our Neighbors in Need!

Please join us as we provide hope and dignity to our neighbors experiencing homelessness!

Each day more than 100 men, women, and children turn to Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless' One Stop Homeless Services Center in their time of need.

Why? Well, there is a lack of affordable housing and available overnight shelter beds, and they don’t want to be homeless. NO ONE DOES! Homelessness is a complex issue; however, in simple terms it is when a person is experiencing BOTH financial AND relational poverty. The result is that they can no longer find housing they can afford.

With friends like YOU, we will be there to welcome them into a person-centered and trauma-informed environment. The One Stop provides a safe place off the streets with all the services to help them get back on their feet with dignity and respect.

But we need your help!

Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless operates the One Stop Homeless Services Center that is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm. We serve anyone experiencing homelessness, whether they stay in a local shelter or on the streets.

Located in downtown Baton Rouge at the corner of Convention and 17th Street, right across from St. Vincent De Paul, we provide a centralized location for the following services: housing navigation - coordinated entry services access point, a day shelter program, legal assistance, medical and dental clinics, veteran services, mental health and substance abuse support, workforce development, volunteer-led activities, plus access to many other community resources to assist on the journey toward housing stabilization!

Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless runs the day shelter program where basic needs are met . We provide clean bathrooms, warm showers, toiletries, laundry services, phones, internet, mailboxes, a computer lab, and access to all the programs and services offered by our partners.

Our current partnerships at the One Stop include the following: Start Corporation, Southeast Legal Services, Open Health Clinic, Geaux and Deaux Ministries, Community of Note, Department of Veterans Affairs, Louisiana Workforce Commission, with more added weekly.

We have heard it said a million times…."Everyone is ONE major crisis away from being homeless!" But, do you really think that your family and friends would let that happen to you? How many “GoFundMe” campaigns do you see on social media each week? But what if you have lost your family or friends due to death or other circumstances? That would be a really scary place to be.

BUT THERE IS HOPE!

Please join us in being that light of hope and a safety net to the hundreds who do not have a place to call home tonight by supporting the work of Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless at the One Stop!

Together, we can restore hope and dignity to our community’s most vulnerable neighbors and walk alongside them on the road to independence and housing stability!
